At Gwinganna we developed the four day specialty program, Sleep Discovery, to help guests better understand the science of sleep and for them to learn how to improve their sleeping patterns. Daily key seminars are combined with diverse activities, delicious organic cuisine and afternoons of rest at the Spa Sanctuary. Guests leave the retreat knowing how to promote a deep and peaceful sleep and empowered for positive change.
Need some tips now for better sleep?
* Reduce your caffeine intake to less than 200 mg a day and have this only before 12 noon. Remember that caffeine is found in chocolate and various other foods and drinks.
* Develop a regular routine of early to bed and early to rise during your working week. Our bodies love this routine. It will usually take approximately one week to change and adjust to this routine.
* Meditation, yoga and qi gong help restore cortisol balance, and if practiced regularly in the afternoon or early evening, they will help improve your sleep.

Food is an essential element in any healthy body, however in our busy lives we reach for convenience foods because we tell ourselves we do not have time to cook. With such alarming health statistics today, we need to either look at food and its function differently or our lives will continue to be plagued by disease. Shelley Pryor is a unique individual who has a passion for food, from the seeds that she plants and grows organically right through to how to prepare meals to nourish your body. Shelley is not just an organic gardener but was also a very talented Chef. Unique to Gwinganna, this program is relevant, engaging and entertaining. Learn, laugh and enjoy a special three day experience focused on organic living.
