General Information

Travel Insurance

We know that sometimes plans change so we recommend that all our guests secure comprehensive travel insurance prior to a stay here. We strongly suggest choosing a policy that will cover sickness or unpredictable circumstances that may require you to change your plans. Even if you live locally and are driving to the retreat, please remember that you are booking a complete holiday/package that is non-refundable and non-transferable should an unplanned situation arise. Please consider the following when choosing your policy:

  • Cancellation fees
  • Lost deposits
  • Additional expenses for accidental injury, sickness and hospitalisation
  • Medical evacuation
  • Luggage and personal effects
  • Travel delay and alternative transport expenses
  • Personal liability

When organising insurance, ensure you read the product disclosure statement to select the most suitable cover policy for you.  Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat is not responsible or liable for any costs associated with changes to your travel arrangements.

Getting the most out of your arrival day

To maximise your stay with us, please arrive between 2pm and 4pm, dressed  casually, with suitable walking shoes. To start your retreat as soon as you arrive, we offer afternoon spa treatments, due to the popularity of this option please book prior to arrival to avoid disappointment.

Deposits and Payments

A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. To take advantage of limited special offers, full payment is required at time of booking.

Cancellations and Postponements

All payments are valid for 12 months, including deposits. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Should you need to make changes to your booking, the following charges will apply:

  • Postponement more than 14 days prior to arrival will incur a fee of $100 per person/per package.
  • Postponement 14 days prior to arrival will incur a fee of 50% of the total package.
  • Postponement 7 days prior to arrival, non-arrival or early departure will incur a fee of 100% of the total package.

Getting there and away

Gwinganna is located in the Tallebudgera Valley of Queensland’s Gold Coast, approx 30 minutes drive from the airport and approximately one hour drive from Brisbane city. Courtesy transfers from Gold Coast airport are available at set times.  If you are driving, click the button below to download a direction map.

Preparing for your stay

Arriving/departing by air

If you are arriving by air, we offer a courtesy transfer from Gold Coast airport at 1pm on the first day of each retreat, please ensure your flight lands by 12.30pm to access this transfer. For your departure, our courtesy transfer will depart Gwinganna at 2pm on the final day of each retreat, please ensure your flight departs after 3.30pm to access this transfer. If you are arriving into Brisbane airport or cannot make our courtesy times, a limousine service is available which we can book for you.

Please note on the day of departure normal activities are from 6-11am, a final seminar at 11.30am, then lunch is served from 1-2pm. Departures should be planned at 2pm. To download airport information, click the button below.

Spa Treatments and Wellness Therapies

Please send any requests for treatments and therapies to us in writing by fax or email prior to your arrival. These requests will be confirmed once you have arrived.

Mobile Devices

To truly escape and help you disconnect, we have created a mobile free low tech environment. Use of mobile devices is restricted to use in your room. Your room is also equipped with a landline phone. Family and friends will be able to contact  you via the main reception number +61 7 5589 5000.

Dietary and Medical Requirements

Any specific dietary or medical requirements need to be advised to Reception prior to arrival.  On arrival you will be given a Retreat Questionnaire to complete.  We need to know about any food  allergies, intolerances, medication allergies and any medical conditions that may impact your stay.  Should you have any medical conditions you would like to discuss with our nurse prior to your arrival, please contact Reception.


Gwinganna is a smoke free environment.


To ensure all guests maximise the Gwinganna experience we request that the following items are not brought onto the property:

  • Alcohol
  • Food/snacks
  • Caffeine
  • Cigarettes
  • Illegal drugs and non prescription drugs
  • Mobile devices including laptop computers and tablets
  • Newspapers/radio

Please note the minimum age for all guests is 18 years.
